YEREVAN, OCTOBER 14. ARMINFO. The Italian Embassy in Yerevan introduces the “TERZA SETTIMANA DELLA LINGUA DEL MONDO’ (“III Italian language in the world Week”) which will be held in Yerevan October 20 to October 24. It is a common enterprise to promote the Italian language abroad which will be organised by all Italian Embassies and Institutes of Culture during the last week of October this year. All academics and students involved in Italian courses in Yerevan have been invited to participate in order to have a better knowledge of the various facets of the Italian language in art, music and literature.
The Italian Embassy in Armenia told ARMINFO that it will be a multi-media event which will include, together with a lecture on Dante Alighieri, the screening of a famous play by one of the most prominent Italian contemporary play-writer, Eduardo de Filippo, of some excerpts of the 1963 classic TV version of Alessandro Manzoni’s masterpiece “I Promessi Sposi” as well of the Giuseppe Verdi opera “Falstaff”. Events on October 20, 22 and 23 will take place at the Italian Embassy theatrette. The initiative will further strengthen the cultural relations between Italy and Armenia, where the interest towards the Italian language has significantly increased, with a 30% rise of the attendance of Italian classes by Armenian students at University level over the last two years.
