YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS: The government of Armenia has released this year 100 million (approximately $173,000) to education and science ministry to assist Armenian-language educational establishments abroad. Hrach Tadevosian, head of an education ministry department, supervising relations with Diaspora, told Armenpress that 60 million of the sum was used on printing 71 names of textbooks, teacher’s manuals and Armenian self-taught books. Besides this, also Armenian national flags and emblems will be sent to them.
He said some 59,000 copies of textbooks and manuals were sent to Georgia, 5,200 copies to Russia, 450 copies to India, 170 copies to Belarus, books were also sent to Kazakhstan, Belgium and Poland. The rest of the books and other materials will be sent to Diaspora schools in October. He also said Sunday Armenian schools have opened this year in Poland and India.
