YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS: Armenian foreign affairs ministry said that during the month of September, Minister Oskanian will make statements before the UN, the EU and the Council of Europe as part of a series of regular meetings and assemblies.
On Saturday and Sunday he will receive and meet with the Foreign Minister of the Holy See, Jean Louis Tauran, who is making a regional visit. On Monday, the Minister leaves for New York for the opening of the 58th UN General Assembly. There, he has scheduled meetings with the foreign ministers of Argentina, Cuba, Iran, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Netherlands, Rumania, Slovenia, Syria. Others may be added. He will also sign several UN conventions, as well as a protocol with Timor Leste. While in NY, the Minister will meet with representatives of the Armenian community.
On Saturday, September 28, the Minister will be in Strasbourg for a meeting with Armenia’s Parliamentary Group and various individual meetings with Council of Europe leadership. Armenia’s annual European Union Cooperation Council Meeting will take place in Brussels on September 30, when the sides will review the year’s activities and set goals for continuing cooperation.
On October 1, he will return to New York to deliver Armenia’s Statement at the General Assembly. That evening, before leaving New York, he will meet with the leadership of Armenian youth and student organizations. In Paris on October 3, he will address UNESCO’s 32d General Conference. He returns to Yerevan on October 4.
