BAKU, SEPTEMBER 16. ARMINFO-TURAN. 11 of 15 polled Turkish journalists were opposed to opening of borders between Turkey and Armenia, reads press release of Turkish-Azerbaijani Centre of Media Studies.
Six of those 11 journalists motivated their opinion by Armenians’ demand to recognize Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey. Four of those 11 journalists said they are against, because of occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia and one journalist expressed his opinion “by social and economic reasons.”
Asked if opening of borders could positively influence the Karabakh conflict settlement, 69% of those polled answered “no.”
66.6% of those polled said relationships between Turkey and Azerbaijan are not at a high level, 20% stress necessity of development of relationships and only 13.4% satisfied with the current level of cooperation.
