YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS: An expert of the Japanese Sumitomo Corporation is expected to arrive soon in Yerevan to supervise the installation of $300,000 worth sound equipment at Yerevan Opera and Ballet Theater made available to it as a grant. The Yerevan theater won it in an international competition announced by the government of Japan in 2002.
Suren Aghababian, the theater’s director, said the Armenian side has committed to provide the Japanese government and the Sumitomo Corporation with reports about how much the equipment helped the theater’s progress.
The state of the art equipment’s installation is expected to be over in 2004 April.
