The showing of Atom Yegoyan’s “Ararat” movie in Turkey, describing Armenian Genocide in Turkey in 1915, slated for forthcoming fall, is halted waiting for the discussion of the draft law on the Genocide in the US Congress by November, said a French Le Monte reporter from Istanbul, reminding that last year the showing of the movie in the international movie festival in Istanbul was turned down, under the pretext of the bad quality of the movie.
He also said that the Security Council of Turkey, considering the showing of the movie, has arrived at the conclusion that it is not preferable to show simply because it is anti-Turkish and decided to await till the voting of the Genocide statement by the US Congress.
