Dr. Hovannisian is a distinguished professor of Armenian, Caucasian and
Near Eastern History and holder of the Armenian Education Foundation
Chair in Modern Armenian History at the University of California, Los
Angeles. He is a Guggenheim Fellow, a founder and three-time president
of the Society for Armenian Studies, and the author and editor of
numerous articles and books, including Armenia on the Road to
Independence and The Republic of Armenia.
