Oil exploring works were begun in the Arpachar region of Turkish province of Kars located in the immediate neighborhood with Armenia. According to the Turkish press reports, a well of 200 meters deep has been already bored in the village of Jede. Leadership of “Turkish Oil” company carrying out these works believes the occurrence of oil to be approximately 5 kilometers deep. The holing will last for about three months. Totally, the sum amounting in $6 000 000 is planned to be spent on the prospecting.
