YEREVAN (Armenpress, Eurasianet)—According to Armenian authorities, the trial of the suspects accused of plotting and killing the former head of state-run Armenian Public Television and Radio (APTR) Tigran Naghdalian will start on July 29.
The trial has 13 defendants including Armen Sarkisian, the brother of Vazgen Sarkisian, the former prime minister killed during the October 27, 1999 attack on Armenia’s parliament. To assure security, the trial will be held at the Court of Appeals.
Naghdalian was killed on December 28, 2002 with a single shot to the head as he left his parents’ house. Naghdalian was a staunch supporter of President Robert Kocharian.
