France to Support Tourism Development

FRANCE TO SUPPORT TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN ARMENIA

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ France will render assistance to the tourism development in Armenia. As reported by “Mediamax” agency, the agreement upon this has been achieved today at the meeting of Armenian president Robert Kocharian with French minister of transport and tourism Gilles de Robien in Paris. In the minister’s words, the experts of the French State Agency for tourism will visit Armenia with the aim of conducting the investigation of the tourist potential of Armenia. He emphasized that that providing security and internal political stability are the essential factors for development of tourism and in this view Armenia is favorably different from its neighbors in the region. In his opinion, Armenia can become rather attractive country for ecotourists in the perspective. Robert Kocharian and Gilles de Robien also discussed the issues of the transport communications in the South Caucasus. The parties, particularly, emphasized the necessity of complete functioning of the railway communication in the region. R. Kocharian announced about Armenia’s readiness to participate in the realization of transport and communication projects, sponsored by the European Union. In the course of the meeting the tourism minister noted that the French party would view the possibility of organizing “Air France” company’s flights to Armenia.
