YEREVAN, JULY 4, ARMENPRESS: Prime minister Margarian, some other government ministers and Germany’s ambassador to Armenia Hans Wulf Bartels, traveled today to Armenia’s third largest town of Vanadzor in the province of Lori to attend the inauguration of a completely restored, Vanadzor-2, high-voltage power substation, accomplished on a German loan. The reconstruction started in 2002 based on an intergovernmental loan agreement of 27.5 million Marks for reconstruction of two such substations, the second is in the town of Gavar.
Earlier the Kanaker hydro power plant on the outskirts of Yerevan was reconstructed on a German loan. Another German-loan-supported project is expected to be conducted in Lori and Shirak, to improve drinking water systems.
