MOSCOW, JUNE 30, ARMENPRESS: Iranian actor Faramarz Qaribian, who is of Armenian descent, received the “best male leading actor” award in the Moscow International Film Festival here Sunday. He won acclaim for his part in the full-length feature film “Dancing in the Dust”.
The director of the film, Asghar Farhadi, was also granted a special award by the Russian film critics in a special ceremony. Some 19 films from different countries, including Iran, competed in the competition sector of the 10-day 25th Moscow International Film Festival which concluded Sunday.
The director of the festival, Nikita Mikhalkov, in an interview with IRNA, hailed Iranian films for their unique sense of realism and tendency to depict moral issues.
