ANKARA, JUNE 28. ARMINFO.Turkish Armenian Women Communications (ETKI) Group will hold a meeting between July 1-3, 2003 in Yerevan.

According to Turkish Daily News, Representatives of Turkish and Armenian NGOs, academics, artists, press members, deputies and women from the business community will come together in the meeting, during which economic, social and cultural problems of Turkish and Armenian women and their solution proposals will be discussed. ETKI Group was formed to develop dialogue and projects between Turkish and Armenian NGOs when the Marmara Group Foundation Human Rights Platform Chair Mujgan Suver, former deputy Gonul Saray, Armenian deputy Hermine Naghdalyan and the Armenian Caucasus Women’s Union Chair Hranush Kharatyan attended a panel discussion in Istanbul on March 8, 2001. It also made a cooperation with the American University Global Peace Center. Between June 21-25, 2002, the Marmara Group Foundation Human Rights Platform Chair Mujgan Suver, former deputy Gonul Saray and the Marmara Group Foundation Executive Board member Lale Aytanc Nalbant visited Yerevan. A group including Armenian parliament members, press members and NGOs working for women’s problems was invited to Turkey. A group of 10 people came to Istanbul between December 10-13, 2002. During the visit they decided to develop common projects, to translate Turkish and Armenian books about the problems of women into each language and to improve bilateral relations.
