panarmenian: CHARLES AZNAVOUR PARTICIPATED IN ARMENIAN CHURCH CONSECRATION IN LVOV

World-wide known singer and actor Charles Aznavour arrived in Lvov May 18, where he took part in the consecration ceremony of an Armenian Cathedral. “Just the church is the connecting link for all Armenians dispersed throughout the world,” – Aznavour said at the press conference. In his words, as reported by “ITAR-TASS” agency, he came to Ukraine first of all as a man remembering his Armenian origin and only after that as a singer and a philanthropist. Charles Aznavour arrived in Lvov accompanied by his son. “Though different nationalities merge in my children, they perceive themselves Armenians,” – the singer said, complaining that the children “do not speak the language of their ancestry.” Catholicos of all Armenians Garegin II consecrated the temple restored to the faithful a year ago. In the evening after the celebrations on the occasion of the temple consecration Charles Aznavour gave a concert for the Armenian Diaspora in Ukraine as well as for the Armenian delegation headed by chairman of the National Assembly Armen Khachatrian.
