Yerevan. (Interfax) – Armenia had inflation of 2% in April and 4.2%
in the first four months of the year, the country’s statistics
service told Interfax.
Food and drink, including alcohol and tobacco, went up 3% in price,
nonfood prices fell 0.1% and service charges grew 0.3% in April.
In the four months, prices grew 6% for food and drink, 0.3% for
nonfood goods and 0.7% for service charges.
In the 12 months to the end of April, consumer price inflation was
2.7%, including 3.1% for food and drink, 3% for non-food goods and
1.7% for services.
Inflation was 2% in 2002. The Central Bank is targeting inflation of
3% this year.
