A branch office of the Armenian-Turkish Union of Entrepreneurs is founded under the European Union. As reported by “Arminfo” agency, union chairman, Turkish businessman Kaan Soyak stated upon the completion of a conference initiated by the European Parliament and devoted to the relations between Armenia and Turkey. In his statement at the conference, held in the building of the European Parliament, EU rapporteur on the Caucasus Per Garton called Turkey to open the border with Armenia. At the same time he emphasized the approach “opening the borders after settlement of contradictions” was not topical. In his opinion, “the border should be opened at first and the problems will be settled in the course of the time.” As it was stated at the conference, there are many people at the EU, who believe in improvement of the Armenian-Turkish relations and stabilization of the situation in the South Caucasus.
