APRIL 28. The well-known Moscow scientist and public worker, the academician of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Mikhail Minasbekyan was awarded a Gold Medal “To the Glory of the Motherland” by this academy. He was awarded for the research and calculation of the temperature patterns of direct-acting engine and gas turbine units.
It is not the first award of Doctor of Technical Sciences M. Minasbekyan. Earlier he was awarded an order of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences “For services in development of science and economy,” as well as was conferred on the Title “The Knight of Science and Arts.”
Doctor Minasbekyan was the founder and the first manager of the Yerevan scientific-and-production union “Armaviacomplex” of the Ministry of Aviation Industry of the USSR. Then he changed over to the party work in 1975-90. He was a national deputy of the USSR and the member of the USSR Supreme Council in 1989-91. Later he was appointed Vice Chairman of the USSR State Committee for National Affairs. Then Minasbekyan was elected President of the Economic Council for Development of Enterpeneurship and Investments. In 1998, due to him, an agreement was concluded between the Governments of Armenia and Moscow on establishing the Russian-Armenian company he currently heads.-
