YEREVAN, APRIL 24, ARMENPRESS: Armenian national statistical service (Armstat) has posted an 11.3 percent GDP growth in the first quarter of the year against the same time span of 2002. In terms of money the growth amounted to almost 190 billion Armenian Drams.
Armstat said the volume of industrial growth, not counting energy and the amount of collected bills for water supply and sewage services, made 63.5 billion Drams. The volume of agricultural growth stood at 33.5 billion Drams. The volume of major construction made in terms of money 14 billion Drams. Proceeds from retail trade amounted to 124 billion Drams.
According to Armstat, the volume of household incomes grew 7 percent against the first quarter of 2002, making 196.3 billion Drams and the volume of expenses reached 210.5 billion Drams. The volume of foreign trade turnover stood at $387.5 million with exports growing 10 percent and making $132.1 million and the volumes of exports growing by 30 percent reaching $255.4 million.
