On April 17, the staff of the Armenian Airlines turned to Lloyd Dakin, a UN representative in Armenia, expressing their protest in connection with the violation of human rights, which was carried out against almost 800 employees of the company. The letter signed by 300 pilots, flight attendants and technical employees, in particular, mentions that as a result of the transferring of flights of Armenian Airlines to private companies more than half of 1,500 employees of the company becomes unemployed without giving social guarantees. The letter enumerates the violations of a number of articles of the Labor Legislation: arrears of salaries for eight months, the absence of warn about dismissal, the violation of agreements signed with members of the staff, etc.. Pilot Henrik Petrosian, a member of the steering committee of elected during the meeting the staff of Armenian Airlines, told NT’s correspondent that the letters of similar content will also be transferred to the Armenian offices of other international organizations with an appeal to undertake measures on the provision of their constitutional rights, or to give them an opportunity to settle down in any corner of the world, “where elementary rights of people are protected”. Earlier, Armenian Airlines staff turned to the RA President, the RA government and the parliament of the court, demanding that the process of the transferring of the authorities of the Armenian Airlines to the “Armavia”,” Siberia” and “International Airways” companies should be stopped, the possibility of presenting the program of leading the company out of the crisis should be given, the process of the dismissal of people should be stopped and the persons who brought the national airlines to such a condition should be called to account. But all these appeals, with the exception of one, were left without a reply. An answer was received only from the RA government, which forwarded the application of the employees of Armenian Airlines to Samvel Margarian, the Chief of the Head Department of Civil Aviation, suggesting that it should be discussed with the staff.
