The building, which is currently under repair by the support of an American billionaire of Armenian origin Kirk Kirkorian, is going to be one of the best opera houses in the world, she said.
Ambassador Nomura said in turn that the gift of the Japanese government will bridge the cultures of the two countries, including mutual performance-visits to Japan and Armenia.
As the director of Yerevan Opera house Kamo Hovhannissian said, their sound equipments are out of date and during any ceremony or event they rent the necessary equipment from other organizations. This new acquisition will be a major help to the theatre, he said.
