FEBRUARY 24. Public Television of Armenia has invited Armenia’s President Robert Kocharyan and Leader of the People’s Party of Armenia Stepan Demirtchyan, continuing their race for presidency, to take part in two TV debates. During the first meeting they are supposed to present their positions on Armenia’s foreign policy and the Karabakh conflict peaceful settlement, while the second discussion will be dedicated to the internal political situation, social and economic problems. Of course, says PTA, the debates will take place only if Demirtchyan does not persist in refusing the invitation, “preferring rallies to the civilized way of presenting one’s electoral program through television.” To remind, in his two interviews to PTA Pres.Kocharyan expressed readiness to meet with Demirtchyan on the air “in any format.”-
