Yerevan. Opposition parties of Armenia are protesting against the
second round of the presidential election in Armenia. Aram Sarkisian,
a leader of the Reppublic Party, declared yesterday at the meeting of
many thousands: “A new president Stepan Demirchian will be inaugurated
on 5 March, the day when the second round of the election must be
conducted”.
The opposition does not acceppt the data promulgated by the Central
Election Committee where incumbent President Robert Kocharian got
49.8% votes, National Party Leader Stepan Demirchian 28.3%. Aram
Sarkisian is sure that it is Demirchian who has won the election,
and the opposition demands the confession of this data from the CEC.
