Yerevan, 22 February: A traffic accident has occurred on the
Pyatigorsk-Yerevan-Stepanakert road near the village of Vaagnadzor,
the press service of the Armenian Emergencies Ministry has told
Arminfo news agency.
According to the source, an Ikarus bus carrying 19 passengers and
two drivers plunged into a gully from a height of 8-10 metres and by
sheer luck hit a tree. Fifteen people were injured in the accident. The
first aid service which arrived at the scene of the accident provided
medical aid to eight passengers. Seven people were taken to hospital
No 1 in Vanadzor. The law-enforcement agencies and the Lori regional
department of the Armenian Emergencies Ministry have launched an
investigation into the causes of the accident.
