Two Armenian planes, run by the national carrier Armenian Airlines (AA) operating flights today to Moscow and southern Russian city of Krasnodar were forced to turn back halfway after Russian aviation authorities banned their entrance into Russian Airspace, Armenpress reported.
On February 4 the Russian Aeronavigation agency notified the AA management that they will have to ban entrance of Armenian planes’ entrance into Russian airspace as long as it fails to pay an outstanding debt of $2 million for its services.
However, due to promptly undertaken measures by the AA and Armenian Aviation Department the Aeronavigation agency allowed Armenian planes’ entrance into Russia. The chief manager of the AA Arsen Avetisian has left today for Moscow in an attempt to seek a solution to the problem.
