armenpress: 60-MEMBER RUSSIAN DELEGATION ARRIVES IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 4, ARMENPRESS: A 60-member Russian delegation, led by technology and science minister Ilya Klebanov has arrived today in Yerevan to attend a regular session of a joint intergovernmental economic cooperation commission. Speaking to journalists upon the arrival at Yerevan airport Klebanov said the agenda of the meeting includes some 11 questions encompassing industry, transport, energy and other areas.

Klebanov argued that Georgia is softening its position over restoration of rail link between Russia and Armenia part of which runs across its breakaway region of Abkhazia, after a set of intensive talks between Russian and Georgian officials in Moscow lately.

The session is expected to approve a plan of long-term actions for boosting economic cooperation between Yerevan and Moscow up to the year of 2010.

Members of the delegation will be received today by president Kocharian, defense minister Serzh Sarkisian, who is also co-chairman of the commission and prime minister Margarian.
