The Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel today. The 98-member ensemble has been invited by the Armenian Community in the UAE.
The orchestra regularly accompanies the famous Lebanese singer, Fairouz. Arshag Poladian, Ambassador of Armenia, will be attending the event. This western classical concert adds a very unique flavour to the festive calendar of events that targets people of all nationalities.
The event is sponsored by American University in Dubai, Tanagra, Bank of Sharjah, GINCO and Polimar.
Formed some 70 years ago in Yerevan, Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra is a unique orchestra, since all its members are Armenian-born and educated at Yerevan, Moscow and St. Petersburg Conservatories.
Yerevan-born composer and conductor, Eduard Topchjan, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, will be conducting the concert on this tour.
The orchestra has participated in many summer festivals, receiving critical acclaim and recorded extensively.
