Panarmenian: AZERBAIJAN SUGGESTED TO OPEN ARMENIAN BORDER AT LUCERNE CONFERENCE

“It’s a pity that Azerbaijan and Armenia do not trade and do not really cooperate with each other. If they could cooperate and open borders, I am sure that donors and international financial institutions would assist them with subsidiary loans. As reported by “Arminfo” agency referring to “Swissinfo,” Swiss minister of finance Kaspar Villiger made this statement addressing the international conference in Lucerne. Among the participants of the conference were also representatives of Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, who were also called “to open borders in exchange for foreign financing.” Nevertheless, the conference main emphasis was put on the relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. It was mentioned that both parties suffered from severance in 1991.
