Armenian embassies in Brussels, Greece, Germany, France and other countries will open a total of 36 electoral precincts for Armenian citizens living in these countries on temporary or permanent basis to participate in February 19 presidential election.
A spokeswoman for Armenian foreign affairs ministry said now the exact number of Armenian citizens eligible to vote is being specified. In Los Angeles alone 7,000 Armenian citizens are expected to go to the polls, another 4,000 in Athens. The spokeswoman said Armenians who carry the passports of the Republic of Armenia or old Soviet passports will be eligible to vote, even if they are not registered with embassies or consulates.
