One more week and the Central Election Commission will publicize the names of presidential candidates who will qualify for running for presidency. Beginning from January 21 Armenian TV channels and other mass media outlets will be filled with election campaigning by candidates along with formation of all level election commissions, printing of ballots and verifying the voter registries. Under the election code the timetable of major measures regarding preparation and handling of the election also sets the date, ten day prior to the election, for candidates to walk out of the race.
In all likelihood not all the 12 candidates are as confident in their victory as to continue the struggle and some of them, if all 12 are registered by the CEC, would shift from running for presidency to defending some other candidate.
