MOSCOW (Noyan-Tapan)—According to the Moscow-based “Novaya Gazeta” newspaper, Yuri Hovhanissian, the director of the Russian Nuclear Research Institute is among eleven Russian scientists in physics, chemistry end medicine who hold the greatest chance to be presented for a Nobel prize. Hovhanissian heads a group of scientists who work to synthesize
extra heavy elements. Younger than the earth, those elements are not included in the periodic table of elements and have yet to be discovered.
