Armenian President Robert Kocharian said he is shocked by the murder of the head of Armenia’s national media committee, Tigran Nagdalyan.
Mr. Kocharian said in a statement Sunday broadcast by the Armenian media that law-enforcement agencies will do everything in their power to track down the assailant and bring him to justice.
Mr. Nagdalyan died in the hospital Saturday after being shot by an unknown assailant near his parents’ apartment in Yerevan, Armenia’s capital city.
The 36-year-old was head of Armenian Public Television and Radio, the main broadcasting entity in the former Soviet republic.
Police say they have not established a motive for the killing.
