YEREVAN, December 17 (Noyan Tapan). About 5-6,000 adults and 7-11% children in Armenia suffer from bronchial asthma. The disease is mostly spread in Gyumri and Gegharkunik regions of Armenia. This information was provided by Hasmik Hakobian, the Chairwoman of the “Familiy of the Future” NGO, during a December 17 roundtable. Mrs. Hakobian mentioned that the “step by step” treatment methods are considered to be the most effective in the country. Meanwhile, according to her, treatment without medicines or the Buteyko method of deep breath elimination, which gives an opportunity to a sick man to manage his own breath and reduce the medicines are more modern. The organization has been applying this method on 128 patients during three 3 years and got positive results.
