Noyan Tapan: THERE ARE 25 EVERYDAY ARMENIAN SCHOOLS IN U.S.

There are 25 everyday Armenian schools in the United States now. The Foreign Relations Department of the Ministry of Education and Science told Noyan Tapan that the Ministry has data about 14 schools only. 3,616 schoolchildren are enrolled in these schools. The majority of schools were opened in the 60s-80s and 15% of pupils are children of emmigrants from Armenia. 912 teachers work at the Armenian schools, nearly 100 of them need re-training. Besides, the schools need relevant materials and new textbooks on teaching the Armenian language and literature.
