DECEMBER 9. The songs nominated as laureates of the musical competition “Sayat Nova” from foreign countries will be presented for the second round irrespective of their quality, Chairman of the Organizational Committee of the competition Stepan Davtyan said at a press-conference today. He said such a policy is aimed at attracting more representatives of the Armenian Diaspora to competitions. Stepan Davtyan said the competition will be held in three nominations: “Modern Song,” “Children’s Song” and “Folk Remix.” The competition will be held in three rounds. The winners will be given bonuses: $2,500 for the first place, $1.5-1 thous. for the second and the third places. Davtyan also said only the songs of 2002 will be presented at the competition.
