The 72nd World Weightlifting Championships concluded Tuesday (November 26) in Warsaw, Poland with the Armenian team of four finishing 22nd out of 47.
Arthur Danielyan was the only Armenian to place, taking seventh in the 62 kilogram weight category out of 13.
(To place, a weightlifter must successfully complete the snatch and the clean and jerk.)
Vigen Khachatryan started well at fifth position (out of 18) in the 77kg division of the snatch (lifting 162.5kg). He failed, however, to complete the clean and jerk.
Tigran Kamalyan (85kg) had 195kg in the clean and jerk, but failed in the snatch, competing against 29 others.
And Ashot Danielyan (+105kg, pictured), while managing fifth in the snatch, could not complete the clean and jerk in his division of 23 lifters.
