Armenian deputy finance and economy minister Pavel Safarian told Thursday parliament committees consideration of next year’s draft budget that culture, sports, information sectors will get a total of 6.8 billion Armenian Drams, which is by almost 600 million Drams more than in 2001.
Particularly, the libraries network will get 44 million more in subsidies, which will go to pay librarians’ slightly raised salaries. Museums and exhibitions will get by 84 million more than they did last year and also an extra 265 million will go to art sector. Funds earmarked for education and science sector will also rise by 15.2 percent.
