YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS: Armenia’s national statistical service said the country’s total foreign debt as of 2002, September, stood at 596 billion Armenian Drams, of which dividends on short-term state treasury bills and Central bank’s loans constituted about 38 billion Drams, foreign debt, including the debts of the government and the Central Bank, amounted to 558 billion debts or $962.5 million.
The statistical service said Armenia’s foreign debt grew by $57 million by 2001 December. Over the first nine months some $17 million loans were made available and some $6 million debt were paid off.
Expenses for servicing foreign debt in the first nine months of 2002 made some 6.5 billion Drams.
