NOVEMBER 12. The Armenian Embassy in Moscow gave a concert Monday on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of well-known Armenian musician and pedagogue Henrich Talalyan (1922-1972).
According to ITAR-TASS, for many years Talalyan was the pride and the most valuable asset of the famous Komitas Quartet, representing Armenian music worldwide. He was professor of the Moscow Gnesin Institute (currently Russian Music Academy) and raised a whole Pleiad of noted artists.
Violinist Irina Bochkova, pianist Maria Gambaryan, the Borodin Quartet and other celebrated Armenian and Russian performers played Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovski and of course Komitas.
