NOVEMBER 1. The Turkish Patent Department has officially registered 9 trade marks of the Yerevan Brandy Company “Ararat,” incorporated into the French Pernot Ricard company. According to the press service of the YBC, the trade marks are Akhtamar, Ani, Dvin, Choice, Erebuni, Armenia, Jubilee, Nairi and Vaspurakan. This is the first time that a company registered in Armenia registers its trade marks in Turkey. Besides the 71 trade marks already registered in Armenia, the company has submitted for registration 259 trade marks in 46 countries, including 172 trade marks in 43 countries. To remind, the Russian Court of Arbitration dismissed Thursday an appeal of the Russian Donna company and confirmed the validity of the RosPatent’s registration of the Armenian brandies Akhtamar, Vaspurakan, Dvin, Nairi and Choice as the YBC’s trade marks.
