YEREVAN, OCTOBER 25, ARMENPRESS: The Pan-Armenian Hayastan Fund said the Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutyun was the first to respond to its call to demonstrate more commitment to the construction of a strategically important North-South highway in Nagorno Karabakh that will run across it linking settlements on both sides with the capital Stepanakert and with each other.
In a statement, issued earlier this year, the Fund urged Armenian organizations around the world to contribute to fund raising for completing the major project on which the security, social and economic prosperity of Karabakh people depends.
The Hayastan Fund said Dashnaktsutyun has said it is willing to donate $100,000 to help finish the project of the vital importance.
This is actually the first weighty bid for another telethon, planned by the Fund for November with the purpose of raising more funds for completing the construction of the highway.
In 1996 Dashnaktsutyun Central Bureau in Lebanon donated $250,000 for building Goris-Stepanakert highway, which now provides a comfortable journey from Armenia to Karabakh capital.
