Only 3 per cent, or 4m dollars, are allocated for the needs of
Armenians in the world from the Gulbenkian Foundation’s annual
profits, which are 20 per cent higher than the state budget of
Armenia, Paruyr Ayrikyan, chairman of the Armenian National
Self-Determination Association, told a press conference on
22 October.
He had an opportunity to familiarize himself with the activities
of the Gulbenkian Centre and the Gulbenkian Foundation during
a recent visit to Lisbon when he attended the congress of
the European People’s Party. “If we had had a state all those
years ago when the Foundation was set up , the Foundation would
undoubtedly have been located in Armenia,” Ayrikyan stressed.
