YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–1,078 representatives of ten local organizations and sixty-seven representatives of six international organizations, accredited by the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic, will serve as observers during regular local elections in Armenia on October 20.
The IFES will assign forty observers; the Council of Europe, six observers; the OSCE, ten observers, and the Democratic Institutions and Human Right Office of OSCE, two observers.
Five representatives of the Embassy of Great Britain and the Consul of Norway to Armenia will also observe the process.
According to Anna Alexanian, the Secretary of the RA Central Electoral Commission, local observers will be from the Women-Voters League, the Republican Council of Women, the National Council of Armenian Youth, the Armenian Center for Human Rights Protection and other organizations. Authorized persons of candidates and representatives of the media will also watch the course of the elections.
