MOSCOW, OCTOBER 3, ARMENPRESS: Russia in January-August held sixth place in the CIS by industrial growth rates, Prime-Tass said with reference to the inter-state statistics committee Wednesday. Moldova was on top of the list with 11. 4 percent, Armenia, second with 9. 7 percent and Kazakhstan, third with 9. 4 percent.
In Ukraine industrial growth in January-August was up 5. 9 percent on the year, in Tajikistan, 5. 5 percent, and in Russia, 3. 8 percent, followed by Belarus – 2. 9 percent, Azerbaijan – 2. 3 percent, and Georgia – 1. 8 percent. Kyrgyzstan showed a decline of 16. 2 percent.
Industrial production statistics in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are not available.
The CIS industrial growth rate in January-August 2002 averaged four percent as compared with the same period last year.
