Turkish Foreign Minister Sukru Gurel on Friday accused Armenia of not complying with UN resolutions on Nagorno-Karabakh and demanded a withdrawal of Armenian forces from occupied Azerbaijani territories.
Speaking at the session in New York of the UN General Assembly, the Turkish minister said that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is one of the obstacles to political stability and economic development in the region.
“Being an active member of the Minsk group, Turkey works for a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of OSCE. We initiated a tri-partied meeting among the ministers of foreign affairs of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey in May”, Turkish Foreign minister Sukru Gurel told UN General Assembly on Friday.
Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian is due to address the UN assembly on Sunday.
