Armenian science and education ministry said some 300 Armenian youths from Diaspora had entered this year the vocational schools in Yerevan. Last year their number was 230, Armenpress reported.
The biggest portion of students is from Georgia, some 200 young men and girls have come from there to get vocational education in Armenia, next comes Iran, which has sent 52 students, it is followed by Turkmenistan-25, Syria-16. Students have come also from Ukraine, Lebanon, Israel, Turkey, USA and Iraq.
The Yerevan state teachers training university has Diaspora students more than any other university – 103, the state university has 58 students, the state engineering university has 39 students, the Slavonian university 29 and the state medical university has 12 students.
Seventy of these students who will be majoring in Armenian language and arts will be studying free, the others have to pay.
