BUIRAKAN—Homenetmen’s 7th Jamboree, which began on July 27, came to an end on Sunday, August 4, at the Buirakan campground in Armenia.
Around 550 Homenetmen scouts, representing regions from all corners of the world, lowered the flag for the last time after 9 days of the Jamboree. An award ceremony and a feast with live music followed.
On Saturday morning, the scouts, in full attire, visited Dzidzernagapert to lay flowers around the undying flame. Scout leaders also visited the Yeraplur Cemetery and laid wreaths on the graves of Vartan Pashkhian, Viken Zakarian, and Vazgen Sargsian.
Afterwards, Homenemen’s 550 scouts marched in Yerevan’s streets, starting from the Culture Ministry Building, and stopping at Republic Square, where they sang the Armenian national anthem, “Harach Nahadag,” and “Ov Hye Ari.” Thousands of people were in attendance to
watch the scouts march.
On Monday, August 5, the campers leave for Karabakh. They return to Yerevan on Wednesday, August 7.
