YEREVAN, JULY 30, ARMENPRESS: Argentinean Oscar Lopez was on Monday named as Armenia’s new coach, local press reported. The 64-year-old Lopez, who led Yerevan side Pyunik to the national title last season, succeeds Andranik Karamyan, who resigned following Armenia’s failed bid to qualify for this summer’s World Cup.
Armenian Football Federation president Ruben Hayrapetyan said he had purposely led the search for a foreign manager as he was confident not one of Armenia’s own coaches was up to the task.
