The Army justified its action by the construction of a wall separating
Israel
from Palestine. According to Palestinian media, the official Tel Aviv has
already signed an order to confiscate the Armenian Church lands and to
turn
the Armenian Patriarchate office into army headquarters. In the past two
weeks, the Patriarchate has been negotiating with the Israeli Ministry of
Defense, trying to persuade them to void this order. If negotiations fail,
the Patriarchate intends to take the case to the highest court in Israel,
thus inviting the international community’s attention. According to an
Israeli Government’s decision, any land within the country can be
confiscated
for security.
