YEREVAN, JULY 15, ARMENPRESS: A women soccer team from Armenia will be leaving soon for Norway to compete there with teams from other 47 countries in an international soccer competition. The Armenian team is made up of the women soccer players from a college in Yerevan. The team holds now Armenia’s champion title.
The invitation to the Armenian team has been extended by the grandson of the famous Norwegian traveler and humanist Fritjoff Nansen, which is organizing the competition. Nansen is remembered by Armenians for his help to thousands of Armenian refugees from Turkey in the World War I.
