YEREVAN, JULY 12, ARMENPRESS: Armenian foreign ministry expressed hope on Thursday that the unexpected resignation of Turkish foreign minister Ismail Cem would not affect the unfolding Armenian-Turkish dialogue on the level of foreign ministers.
In a statement, made public late on Thursday a spokeswoman for the ministry Dzyunik Aghajanian said that “I find it necessary to emphasize that Armenia attaches great importance to the establishment of domestic political stability in Turkey.”
“We hope that the unfolding dialogue will continue irrespective of future political developments in Turkey because it stems from the interests of the two neighboring peoples and states,” the statement read.
Cem and his Armenian counterpart, Vartan Oskanian, have met for three times this year.
